Thread: My Adopted Sister has found me!

After many years of searching and waiting. I decided to contact After Adoption towards the end of last year and requested an Intermediary Service to find my Adopted sister.



They are still plodding on with the search.



However, on friday, I received a random e mail, via Friends Reunited website.



Low and behold it was her....



I have been waiting for this moment for 27 years.



I have spent 17 of them as a volunteer Adoption researcher and now I find myself in the same club as so many people I have helped.



Never give up people.....



I am still going to continue doing what I'm doing but may take a week or two off, or at least until my head stops spinning..

Aint life strange.....

It realy is , my husband found he once had a sister a few years ago sadly they never got to meet so for 58 yrs he was unware it was through her death her became aware .





So pleased yours is happy ending

It is early days but I have spoken to her twice.



We have had many years to get used to the idea, so to speak, nevertheless, it is still quite an emotional time, when that final piece of the jigsaw, that you have been searching for, is placed neatly into the centre of the picture.



She will be 50 years old towards the end of the month and lives abroad.



However, my two nephews who are in their 20's live in the UK.



I do plan a trip to see her but there is plenty of time....However, if anyone knows of a cheap International telephone Price Plan...Do let me know. LOL



Only joking!!



It was really great, that I could give her information that my mother refused to give, when they met 20 years ago eg. where I was..and insisted I would not want contact...her Birth Fathers name..etc etc My mother has chosen not to have any more contact.



I sent her some pictures yesterday and when I spoke to her she said we looked like Twins! I think she was quite blown away by that.



There are plans to get together when it is good for us both.
