Thread: Thomas Oliphant Bruce 1877-1917

Hi everyone



I'm trying to trace a marriage for Thomas Oliphant Bruce to a lady called Martha that took place in Hightown, Manchester.



Thomas was born about 1877 and was killed in action on 30 Nov 1917 in Cambrai, France in World War 1. His parents were Fotheringham Rankin Bruce and Christina Drever - families with Scottish connections to Caithness and Orkney. All I have for Martha is that she was born about 1879 in Manchester.



Anyone able to help?

he is in 1911 census - may be worth you getting credits if hes your ancestor. would confirm if there was any other children between marriage and 1911.

Again ... this is pointing in the right direction The 'D' is more than likely for 'Drever' -an Orkney name - and the one Christina was given though I'm not sure where the Caroline fits in as a 'family' name. Perhaps from her mother's side.
