I am looking for some photo-graphs of the Galloway family here are the people I am looking for..



Charles Galloway Born - 1898 - Died - 1981



Evans Galloway Born- - 1829 Died Unknown

the chances of photos being taken, survived, kept and the person who currently holds them having a computer and accessing this site to see your message is remote I would say.



Especially as you don't say where these people lived. Many poorer people may never have had their photo taken either.



You might have some luck if you write to the local paper in the area where the chap who died 1981 was, asking if anyone remembers him.



Alternatively you would need to try to trace living relatives, and then contact them in the hope that they have surviving photographs.

I have exactly the same problem - I am trying to track down photos of the Scorer family from Howden in Northumberland. We have nothing earlier than the 1920s. We have tracked down all possible relatives and none appear to have anything. The best advice I can give you is that they usually go with the eldest girl (because the boys are not interested), or with the youngest girl because she is at home longest with mum - and has time to chat) - either way track down the female line!
