I am asking if someone can help me find a Herbert Caunt born c. 1883 in Nottinghamshire in the 1901 census? He should be working age then, so did he have a profession?

I have found a Herbert Caunt aged 19 born in Carlton, Notts living in Lincoln working as a blacksmith. He's living with a William Sleight and his wife Rachel. William is also a blacksmith.

Great news Emeltee, There are other members of the clan who were Blacksmiths. So he he was in Lincoln and i'm there on Friday! He must have got married so the 1911 is the next thing i will have to try and find out.

My Mother was Edith Olive Caunt and her parents were Herbert Caunt and Elizabeth Harriet Caunt nee Sheward. My Mother married Herbert V Haddon and they had 6 children. I am trying to trace the whereabouts of my uncle Roland Caunt who was the second child of Herbert and Elizabeth Caunt. My parents lived for many years in Brinsley in Nottinghamshire moving there from Selston, and later moved to Jacksdale and then Hucknall. My name is Brenda and I was the 4th child - My eldest brother is Michael born in 1938, Kenneth was born in 1941, Neil in 1945, myself in 1948 followed by Douglas in 1950 and Gillian in 1954.

These are my parents who had 6 children.
