Thread: HMS Northumberland 1881 census

Ancestry shows 1881 census as a free index but when I try to view the record of HMS Northumberland it leads me to the subscription site. I would like to know where Northumberland was stationed and if William Collins was on board. Can anyone help please

I have the 1881 Census on CD so I have looked up the Northumberland for you.



According to the CD the Northumberland was "At sea or in a foreign port"

on board was a Will H Collins aged 23, married, born Withyon Churchtown, Cornwall

I have just found two more William Collins on board the Northumberland



William Collins age 21, unmarried born Ireland



William J Collins age 17, unmarried born Plymouth, Devon
