Thread: descendants of William Massey 1843

Hello all!



I am new to genealogy and Ancestry Aid - so bear with me!



I am researching William Massey my great great great grandad, born 1843 and all his descendants.



His address was

43 Cottage

Hinley Road

Sedgley

Dudley

Staffs



I have found him on a couple of censuses, but on the 1891 census I can't quite make out the name of his eldest daughter who is listed as aged 24 and his third youngest son aged 13? They dont appear on any other censuses (as far as I can tell!)

I think the daughter is Mariah, and the son is Francis. I can't find a Maria/h on FreeBMD but there are 3 Francis Masseys in Dudley reg Dist in 1878.



However, the complete family is in the 1881 familysearch census http://www.familysearch.org/



all born Sedgeley, Staffs. Maria is Ann Maria. If you send me a PM then I will not be breaking copyright regulations by sending you the whole thing privately.

I have been using Ancestry.com and so not looked at the 1881 census as it's not available on there, and Mariah definitely looks right. I too thought it was Francis and found the births you have mentioned - but obviously then without mothers maiden name, it is very difficult to be exact
