Hello everyone,
I have Esther Jane Hall born 1878 Holborn area of London. Esther married Charles Harrison Hird in Edmonton 1899. Charles H was born 1877 Bingley Yorkshire.
I have not been able to find Esther and Charles on the 1901 Census. I then find Esther leaves England with her 2 yr old daughter Eleanor Annie on the ss Haverford to Philadelphia on the 19th November 1902 to join her husband in Concord, N.Carolina. I have not found a passage out to Philadelphia for Charles.
I have found Esther back in Edmonton, England on the 1911 Census living with her 2 children at her parents home. Daughter referred to as Annie and son Jack born 1904 USA. Esther says she is a Widow. I have also found Charles Hird's family living close to Esther in Edmonton in the 1911 Census, Charles Father is a Worsted Agent, so I wondered if Charles could have worked for a Mill in Concord. I am led to believe it was a large Mill town.
I would like to go further with my research, but not sure what to do next as I am not sure if ALL the family returned to England between 1904 and 1911 as I have not been able to find a passage back to England. This means, Charles could have died in the USA, possibly Concord, or if they came back to England, Charles could have died here. I have not been able to find a death date for Charles in England as yet. I would also like to find Jack's birth, possibly in Concord, N.Carolina.
Would anyone know how to go about finding a possible birth and death in Concord, N.Carolina.
Any help very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
AudreyJP
