Thread: RAISBECK From in & around Middleton in Teesdale in Co.Durham

I'm researching my RAISBECK families from in and around Middleton-in-Teesdale & up to Harwood in Co.Durham. I have gone back to a 'Jonathan Raisbeck' born around 1789 maybe up in Harwood. A lot of the 'RAISBECK' families lived at a place called "MARCHES GILL" near Harwood, & may have been Famers in the 1700's/1800's?

Jonathan Raisbeck married a Mary Cousin(s) on the 27th June 1815 in Middleton in Teesdale, I'm also trying to find out who 'Jonathan's '

Parents were?? would be most grateful as well for any info! ie; cencus,Church records. Jonathan was also a "Lead Miner".

If you go to www.familysearch.org and click on Record Search Pilot, then on Europe on the map you will be able to access the Bishops Transcripts for Durham. Go to Middleton on Tees and on page 81 you will find the baptism entry for Jonathan, son of Jonathan Raisbeck of Harwood dated 15 Nov 1789.

Page 97 will give you the record for William son of Jonathan and Frances Raisbeck of Harwood 27 Oct 1795.

I haven't looked for any other little Raisbecks but do have fun searching.
