Looking for marriage of Joseph Carpenter to Arabella Somerset 1792 - 1808

Hi,

I am seeking the marriage record of Joseph Carpenter and Arabella ? who married some time between 1792 (Arabella born 1777) and 1808 (first KNOWN child Rebecca born 1808 in Churchill, Somerset). I believe from 1851 census that Arabella was born in Congresbury so might have married there??? Any help much appreciated.

cant find jospeh marriage but have found this in congresbury marriage records so might come in useful later - a relative?

Marriage in Bristol is certainly a possibility and worth pursuing. I think I heard somewhere that folk from surrounding villages sometimes went into the nearest big cities to marry for a day out or sometimes for other reasons!
