Thread: Looking for George Gough baptism and marriage Bedminster or Long Ashton

Hi,



I'm trying to find the baptism record for George Gough who I believe was baptised around 1817 in either Bedminster, Bristol or down the road at Long Ashton, Somerset. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Also, George married an unknown Eliza around 1835-1836, probably also either Bedminster or Long Ashton. Her maiden name and the record of the marriage would be just dandy.

Luckily for you I was in Somerset Records Office (Taunton) yesterday doing some research for an American correspondant on her Green and King family from Long Ashton.

I was looking at baptisms and copied the whole page of the details I needed.

Page 3 1839 March 24th Robert son of George and Elizabeth Gough born Feb 23 George's trade is Milkman. Parish of Long Ashton. Soms.



There is also another Gough on page 41. Parish records Feb 1944.

Jemina daughter of Edward and Harriet born Dec 20 Father's trade Farmer. parish Long Ashton Soms.



These Goughs came from Locking Long Ashton then in Somerset.



It appears that Long Ashton over time was in Somerset and also Hartcliffe and Bedminster, so records are a little difficult to trace.
