Thread: 1901 Census Lookup Please

Looking for two people in 1901 census please.



In 1911 Census i have



George Griffiths born abt 1882 Warwickshire, Birmingaham. Living in Sheffield working as an Engines Labourer.

Wife Kate Griffiths (nee Gavin) born abt 1886 Sheffield. I can't find a birth record for her the closest i have is Catherine Gavin.



Any help would be appreciated as i can't find either of them in 1901 or 1891.



They married in Sheffield in 1905.

Hi, Ther are several George Griffiths born1882 in Birmingham so further details are needed to pinpoint the right one, such as parents names or father's occupation.



I cannot find Kate Gavin in Sheffield in 1891 but she does appear in 1901

Do you know the parents of George and Kate, this would make them easier to find. If not it might be worth getting their marriage cert to find the parents.

No im in the process of ordering the birth certificate. Just thought kate gavin would be easy to find. Shows how wrong i can be, im still trying to find a birth for her too.

I've just searched on FreeBMD for a Gavin (no Christain nmae) born Sheffield between 1885 and 1887 and the only one that came up was the one you probably have
