Thread: London District boundaries ??

I am trying to find a death for William Tindall who died 1841-51.In 1841 the family was living in St George Hanover and in 1851 the widow Ann was living with daughter Harriett Williams in Westminster.

A search of bmd shows 5 deaths 41-51 - 1 city of London 46,Wandsworth in 47, Greenwich in 47 and 2 in Lambeth in 44 and 51.I have ruled out Wandsworth and Greenwich as being too far away and ordered the City of London certificate which is not the right one.That leaves Lambeth which is on the wrong side of the river.I suspect my problem is since I don't know the boundaries of the London disticts I am missing something unless there an entry I have missed.

Can someone help?

Westminster and St Geo Hanover are both vol number I (1837-51) and 1a (1851 onwards)



I'd suggest you only look at 1a registrations as that will be the right general area.



Its also possible, as these early entries were handwritten, that the index is incorrect. You could try likely searches for Tind* for Lind* or Sind*

Got William and Ann in Lambeth plus a daughter married to some one I did not know about which allowed me to get her death .
