Thread: Dorothy May Mayes~Death lookup please.

I've been trying to find my Great Aunt Dorothy's death. She married Charles Henry Mayes, 9th Sept 1931, in Alverstoke Parish church (nee Crockford) & they may have ended up in the Plymouth area (but don't quote me!)

I can't find her death anywhere, but I think she died fairly young, possibly not long after WW2 ended. Any help would be great.

This could be her, long way from Plymouth !!

My Dorothy was born in 1903, which would make her 52 in 1955, not 48, unfortunately. It would be about the right time though as family say she died after the war, due to the trauma/ injuries after being buried alive during the Blitz.

I have some new info... according to Dorothy's nephew, my uncle, both Dorothy May Mayes (nee Crockford & born 1903) & her husband Charles Henry Mayes (b. 1895) were buried alive durng an air raid on Plymouth & subsequently both died of their injuries.
I've searched again on the death index up to 1947 ~ & no results. Charles was a Royal Marine at the time of their marriage in 1931, but have had no luck on the military side either... also I'm not sure if he was still in service at the time of the air raids (he would have been 45.. ?).
Please, can anyone help.. I've been trying to find them for over 2 years !!!!

Thanks for looking, I'm not sure that this is my Dorothy, as I know for certain that she would only have been 38 & am pretty sure that both her & her husband were in Plymouth.

these entries are nothing like what you are looking for but they are the only ones i can find where a dorothy may and a charles henry are in the same area

however if the deaths were relatively so recent then i am sure you or the nephew would have know more about them
