Hi Linda,
What do you want to know about William Stagg. You haven't given much detail like who is parents were, who he married, how did you get to William in the first place. does the Family come from Hampshire or Wiltshire. I will try to help if you can give a bit more back ground. This is the entry you refer to:
IGI Individual Record FamilySearch™ International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles WILLIAM STAGG Male Birth: 26 MAY 1835 Christening: 05 JUL 1835 Wesleyan, Andover, Hampshire, England
Parents: Father: CHARLES STAGG Mother: ANN ( these his parents?)
This is all I know about my William Stagg. He was in the Royal Artillery.
married to Margaret McFarland
daughters Jane (my grandmother) born 1865 and Margaret born 1867 both in Plymouth. Margaret died in 1871 in Woolwich.
daughter Harriette born 1870 in Woolwich.
By 1881 William, Jane and Harriette are listed in the Nova Scotia, Canada census records.
Family story is that mother Marg. died and William put the children up for adoption. Jane was raised in Halifax and William and Harriette were in a small N.S. town with the prominent Fisher family. Harriette listed as adopted and William with no other permanent address.
If only I could find a marriage certificate for William? I thought maybe this William was a possibility?
Thank you so much for any information that you have.

Hi Linda,
See :- http://www.ancestryaid.co.uk/boards/offer-help-other-family-history-researchers/13856-hampshire-census-google-page-ranking-bts-phillimores-marriage-records-hampshire-igi-abo.html
Are your Staggs on the same side of your tree as your Hibberd's. I have Hibberd/Hibbert from Hampshire and Wiltshire in my tree.
A lot of Hampshire parishes are not in the IGI.
We know William's wife came from Ireland according to the census, we also know he was a soldier. Is it possible he served in Ireland and married there ?
Starlight,
Yes, my William Stagg's daughter Jane Stagg married Levi Collins son of George Collins and Ann Hibberd. Ann was born 1813, married Nov. 17, 1839 in the Parish church, Sutton Mandeville, Wiltshire.
Any connection???
Linda

Hi Linda,
Who were you addressing this to ?
Hi Linda,
I am sorry , I can't see any connection.Although I have 36 Hibberd's I have not bothered to trace all the marriages. If you however come across a Margaret Ferry Hibberd born C1884 Southampton, dau of John Hibberd Sailisbury, Wiltshire get back to me as this joins into the main part of my tree.
