Birth entry for Isaac Hattenstein June quarter 1898 Prestwich 8d 408 if you go to 'Find my Past' site and follow the links for ordering certs £7.00 that will give parents, plus mothers maiden name, place of birth and fathers occupation.

Just found your family on 1901 census



26 Julia Street Cheetham North Manchester

Maurice Hattenstein Head 26 Tailor Machinist Manchester

Rose " Wife 24 Austria

Isaac " Son 3 Manchester

Leah " Dau 2 "

Simon Amman Boarder Russia

I also found his parents marriage June quarter of 1897 Maurice Hattenstein to Rose Grosse Prestwich 8d 753 so I would buy the marriage cert instead of the birth as it will give you both fathers to help you go back a generation. If you get stuck just shout.

Thank you so much for your help, I will do as you say and get the Marriage certificate and see where that leads.
