OK, many thanks for the info anyway. I think Emily's father was named Joseph according to the Ancestry.co.uk website with Emily's spouse's name being William Beff. They married in 1906

If you look at the 1901 census Emily is living with her mother Mary E Fowler and brother Frederick. On both census it states Mary E is single.

If the father was registered it would be on the birth cert. but I think it unlikely because she as her mothers surname.
