Thread: mary wilson of west tanfield yorks

Mary Wilson born 1795 + - 2 years was born in West Tanfield and died there in 1882 age 87. She was married to William Wilson of West Tanfield.

I have most of the census info but cannot find her maiden name.

mary had a son Thomas Todd --B.1828 West Tanfield . He was originally thought to be the son of Hannah Todd. New info suggests he was the son of Mary Wilson. Also we have a Mary Todd B.West Tanfield in 1798.Can anyone help prove/disprove the connection of the two Mary s

You have probably already done this, but I had a look on the IGI - the batch number for Tanfield is M059231 (marriages 1743-1837)



The only marriage results for WILSON were:

Gender: Male Marriage: 19 FEB 1820 West Tanfield, Yorkshire, England

Do you have any idea when her first child was born? That could help in narrowing down the date of the marriage.

Many thanks to Somerset 3 and KPTZ for your kind efforts.Unfortunely I am still trying to locate the maiden name of Mary Wilson. According to family folklore there was a wee bit of hanky panky involved.I have updated my request with some new info. I am not very good on computers so I am most grateful for help.
