Lily Armitage: need help with marriage/death

Hi, Trying to find out what happened to my great aunt lily Armitage b. 14th June 1913. She had not married by 1938 and was either living in Yorkshire or Durham. I have tried to find a marriage but with no Idea of spouses name or the district I have hit a brick wall. I have searched the death records in case she did not marry but can't find anything. I have thought of doing a death search using date of birth but don't think I could access it without a full membership of Ancestry. Also I know not all deaths are registered using accurate birth information.

I would be really grateful if somebody can give me some advice on what to do next.

Lily was born in featherstone, Sub district Pontefract Yorkshire.

Only deaths from 1984-2005 are fully transcribed on Ancestry and there is no death for a Lily Armitage giving the birthdate you have.

so if your aunt died before or after this you will only find her by trawling through the relevant pages of each quarter of each year.

and if she married and you don't have her married name then you won't find it.

Have you thought of seeing if she is buried in a family grave? Maybe she is mentioned in a Will.

There might be another way around this but it might mean you having to put pen to paper.. I will ask this of you first.. Did Lily have any siblings and if so what were their names and birth years...?? If Lily had siblings you might be able to further your investigations through their children.. Hope you understand what I,m trying to say... You can track them down.. I did just this.

Marriages Sep 1900

Armitage Charles Edward Pontefract 9c185

Pilkington Charlotte Pontefract 9c185

I found this marriage so its a connection to the above......You have to do your homework.. Sniff them out
