I am looking for Birth and death of William Webster who was married to Elizabeth Crabb, (probably about 1797 in Angus (Forfarshire) ). I do not know his birth or Death dates, but he appears on his son George's Death certificate in 1857 as deceased.

Hi Lochfoot,
Dated 22nd Aug 1794:-
William Webster, weaver in Brechin and Elizabeth Crabb there, daughter of Thomas Crabb, WeelWright were contracted there in order to marriage: and having been proclaimed several times were married 24th of said Aug.
Hi Lochfoot,
Since there was no requirement to record deaths before 1855 a great many parishes simply did not bother and of those that did, many have not survived. There are quite a few William Webster deaths but as no age is given on his marriage, I cannot see a way of finding the correct one on-line if it did survive.
Hey! Thanks for all that, folks. I have been hunting for William's birth, but had not yet looked for his marriage. That's great. This is the correct William ok, as His widow's death certificate gives the same details for Thomas Crabb. I am pleased to find them fixed at Brechin as this fits with previous info. William's eldest son appears to be called James, which might give a clue to the previous generation. The first three sons are James, Thomas and William, which looks as if the usual pattern was being followed. Off to the files again......... Where did you find the banns record, by the way Starlight? (If you don't mind me asking) Willie.
Hi Lochfoot,
The actual dates of each Bann is not given but can be found at :-
