Thread: Looking for Sarah Turner born abt 1866

Hi I am looking for my G Grandmother Sarah Turner she had 2 sisters I know about Martha 1862 and Alice DOB ?? my grandfather James Turner was born out of wedlock and lived with Martha until about 6 years old and was then put into Swinton poor law school until he was 14 years, and a Emma Taylor got him out said to be his aunt (I dont think so) in the 1901 census it shows Martha Slee, George Taylor and Emma Taylor his mother all lived together and it is the same address given when my grandfather was taken from Swinton 1911 census all three still lived together and Martha was said to be george wife, my grandfather was now in the army, Martha died 1912 and her sister Alice Kelly gave the information and she was said to be Martha Slee widow. I found her grave and there is a Thomas Kenny with her who died 29.3.1924. also Martha was not a widow I found her husband Even Evens Slee died 27.9.1913 after Martha, I can not find all three sisters together in any census and there father was James Turner he died before Martha married in 1882 cand find Sarah or Alice Turner. please can some one help

Have you found Martha's birth index ref? That would give the names of the parents which would help to find the family.

I see from 1891 census Martha & James were born in Manchester.

How sure are you that Sarah was born around 1866? Have you found her on any census?

Hi. I found Martha Slee Nee Turner on her marrage cetf her father was James Turner Dec before 1882 her age is all over the place between 1862 to 1865 so it is hard to pin point her year of birth. Sarah Turner was a waitress when my pop was born. I have found a Sarah Turner 1871 Census born 1864 daughter of Catherine Turner RG10-4032-15-25. 1881 Census a Sarah Turner born 1866 servant to Easton Family GR11-3989-21-10 in 1891 Census there are 2 Sarah Turners one a servant in a place with 98 other people Born 1865 Manchester RG12-3250-121-50 or Sarah George born 1864 Manchester daughter of Catherine Turner RG12-3232-15-25 in 1901 Census Sarah Moore daughter of Catherine Turner RG13-3741-112-22. the Catherine Turner looks to be the same one in both the 1901 and 1891 census. and that is all I have that might fit. No Alice Kelly in the 1911 census, is there some way to find out who lived at 33 Baguley St Harputhey, Manchester in 1912 as this is the address Alice Kelly gave as her address. there is no census that has all three girls and a father James Turner dont know mothers name, cant find Catherine Turner in 1861 census to see if she was married to a James Turner. and dont know if there are any more children. it is a web of dead ends. thank you for any help you can give me as where to look next.
