Thread: Help with Mable Mary Leroux please

Hi All I am looking for my grandmother Mable Mary Leroux. I just found out that she was adopted , was born in 1882 Canada let me start by saying I have found Mabel in many different census with many different last name spellings this is why I am so frustrated with my search .Theses are some of the spellings I have found.

Leroux was found in a border crossings from Canada to US

Leroud from a son's Baptism Canada

Larue in US daughter's death record

Leveaux from my dad's birth record US

Laroux the name as I have always know her as

Mabel first marriage was to John Kidney Stanstead, Quebec No marriage date wish I had. Thinking around 1900 0r 1901 Maybe married in Canada Daughter was born in Canada 1907 Have Mabel in US census as being from Nova Scotia ,but Baptism was in Montreal any ideas on where to go from here. If she was adopted then she may have had a completely different surname at birth. I don't know about Canada, but legal adoption in England and Wales only came into being in 1927 so there are no official records before then.
