Thread: Trying to find OVERALLs

I've got a few bits of information on the family I'm looking for, but not much.



The father is George OVERALL. He's a gardener in 1883.

Daughter Elizabeth, b. ~1855 Hampton, Middx m. Richard HOWARD 1875

Daughter Sarah, b. ~1860-1864 Addlestone, Surrey m. Joseph Henry HIGGINS 1883



I've found Richard HOWARD with Elizabeth on the 1881 census, and I have Sarah on the 1891 and 1901. I have the marriage certificate for Sarah.



I was thinking that if I could find George on a census somewhere, I'd hopefully get a wife's name, which would then help me track down a birth for Sarah (or Elizabeth). No luck so far, though.



If anyone can find any clues at all, or come up with another approach, I'd be very grateful.

Is this them Chris? George was a gardener on both census.

Those do sound plausible. Sarah's husband was born ~1860, so maybe they didn't like that she was older than him. On the marriage certificate, she'd dropped 2 years, and by the 1891 census, she'd lost another 4. Doesn't sound impossible...

hi, Charles Overall is my great granddad,there was one more child born after charles, James b.1873.
Apparently George died and Amelia remarried William Hutchins. Charles and james then went under Hutchins and the others remained Overalls, i have got (my great,great grandad ) Georges parents as Jesse Overall and Sarah Scales, not definate though, i would love hearing from you as we are distantly related, i don,t have much on the overalls and history, it,s my fathers side and he passed early, any info would be appreciated.... cheers Treena
