Default Tolliday...a dead end for me!

    Hello all!

This is my first proper posting- and I'll need a while to get used to the forum- so please excuse any postings in the wrong sections!!!!

I've checked this name in the search facility and nothing is coming up ( I'd have fallen off my chair if something had appeared!!)

What I'm looking for is information of Edward Tolliday b c 1800- not sure where!!

    BUT...

He's the father of Edward Tolliday 1823-1893 Alconbury Weston, Huntingdonshire.

-Ed jnr married Mary Ann Coleman in 1855 in Alconbury....and I have the tree from there.

As you can imagine - the spelling is variable!

I've not been able to find either Edwards in the 1841 census.

There are a few Tollidays in Histon around that time- but I can't link them up!

    Any help would be fantastic!

    Hi Nicos,

No I cant find a marriage for Edward.. I found the Histon areas you make mention of.. You say you cant link them up but this one has a surname for a first name... Have you seen the Pallotts marriage index for them all for Histon? There are a few Public member Trees on Ancestry as well for the surname of Tolliday that mention Edward Tolliday and Mary Ann Coleman. Some Tollidays that were born in Huntingdonshire died in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

    Pallotts Marriage Index 1780-1837

    about Bates Tolliday

Name: Bates Tolliday Spouse: Sophia Gawthroup Marriage Date: 7 Nov 1830 PARISH: Histon

There is also an Andrew Tolliday born Cambridgeshire 1790 so maybe your Edward could have been his brother??? Also there is a mailing list for Rootsweb for the area of Huntingdonshire..

    Another link you could try...
