i dont have much info on john maunder he was born c1819 crediton devon he married martha ann bishop ive hit a brick wall just wondered how i can find out about his parents or siblings

John Bishop Maunder,son, 9, scholar, b Bristol

Martha Ann Maunder,dau, 4, b Bristol

Interestingly right next door at number 3 is:

George Bishop, 45, smith, b Brislington , Bristol

Emily Bishop, 44, wife, b Bristol

George Coulson Bishop, son,14, errand boy, born Bristol - wonder if they are relatives?

They were still in Bristol in 1851, ref HO107; Piece: 1954; Folio: 658; Page: 33 , sub district St Philip and St and Jacob, Bristol, at 14, Kilkenny (nothing else listed, like road or street)

I looked in 1841. As you know there is much less information in the 1841 census, plus they rounded up (or was it down?) ages to the nearest 5 if they were 15 or over - and only said if they were born in the county or not, rather than the actual place, which makes it harder to search in 1841. There are of Maunders in Devon but only the following in Crediton in 1841
