Default Question thrown up by 1911

    Hi,

This is my first question on this site.

I have Thomas Keogh Draper born Belfast 1872.

1911 shows a Thomas Kengh Draper married to Beatrice Draper.

They have been married for 6 years. She is 28 and was born in Bridgewater, Somerset.

They have a 1 year old son William and are living in Warburton Street, Liverpool.

All the details about Thomas tally with what I have, including the street, (He died in Warburton Street in 1924) so I am thinking that Kengh is actually Keogh.

My problem is, can anyone find a B M D for Beatrice. I have tried but with no luck. Maybe fresh eyes.

By the way Thomas is my grandfather and there are lots of questions about him between 1901 and his death in 1924, including the fact that he may not be my mother's father, hence my reason for trying to track down his whereabouts during those years.

I have also found a Thomas Draper in Toxteth Park workhouse in 1911 and I am trying to eliminate one (or both) of them.

    Hoping for a favourable reply.

    Regards

    Olly

    I have found a marriage 1893 Dec quarter Liverpool vol.8b page 77

between Florence Lowe and Thomas Keogh Draper.

I also cannot find a marriage between Beatrice and Thomas, or a death for Beatrice.

I will have a look for Thomas on the 1901 census.

    Thank you Teresa.

I have all the info for Thomas and Florence including the 1901 census.

Apparently, Thomas must have left Florence around 1905/6, as there is no name on daughter Annie's birth cert in 1909. Annie was my mother.

I do appreciate the time you spent looking for me.

Maybe Thomas and Beatrice didn't marry, but just lived together.

There is a Beatrice who registered Thomas' death in 1924, but she is down as Mrs Beatrice Gerken.

    Thanks again

    Regards

    Olly

Sorry couldn't have been more help. Yes. it looks as though Thomas left Beatrice and then moved in with Florence. Have you found Florence with the children on the 1911 census?

I have a similar problem, my ggrandmother is living with my ggrandfather up till 1891 (no marriage found) they have 10 children, including two sets of twins. On the 1901 census he is living with someone else, and on the 1911 yet another! I can find no trace of my ggrandmother after 1891, it's so annoying not knowing what happens to people.

    Good luck with your search.

Will continue to try to tie up the loose ends as best I can.

Thanks again and good luck yourself.

Hi Olly, it's unlikely Thomas and Beatrice were married, as Florence was still alive. Only wealthy people back then could afford to divorce.

Mrs Beatrice Gerken could be the Beatrice living as Thomas' wife in 1911.

There's a possible marriage for her.

    Thank you for that.

I wonder why I didn't find it. I said fresh eyes would help.

I wonder what happened to the little boy, William?

    Another twig to research.

    Thanks again!
