it was very kind of you to do this,

Bateson Goodworth and Emma Goodworth were both christened 4-9-1833

and family members doing the research here in Australia believe they were twins,



but on the shipping manifest for the Nabob in 1842 to Australia Emma was noted as 8years of age the same as Bateson,



but on the 1841 Census Emma is noted as 10,



do you think it is just an error on the census

or should i send for Emma's death certificate to be certain,

Bateson Goodworth was my Great Grandfather,

Hi Patpit,



It's impossible to say whether Emma and Bateson were twins, however lots of mistakes were made in the 1841 census. If you have an LDS centre near to your locality...........you could order the film and see if there's any extra info, sometimes dates of birth were registered. Good luck.

so i guess i will just have to send for her death certificate,
