Eliza Thorne (Aunt) 63 born Crediton, Devon

If this is your Winifred then sending for the birth certificate will give you her father's name. In fact her father's name should be on her marriage certificate if you have a copy of that. If you don't then try searchong for the marriage on FreeBMD

Hi Annie, I managed to find this on the 1901 Census, not sure if it's your Winifred Coombs though:



William Coombs 46 born c.1855

Martha Coombs 43 born c. 1858

Winifred Coombs 13 born c. 1888

Annie Coombs 8 born c. 1893

William Coombs 1 born c. 1900



The address was 48 Pentyre Terrace in Plymouth.

William Coombs was an ironmonger and hardwear dealer.

They also had living with them a Beatrice Hosking, 14, who was deaf.
