Thread: Balls Pond 1841 & 1851 Census lookup required

I am trying to find the following families on the 1841 & 1851 Censuses:



EATON George (son) Thomas (father).

OSBORN Sarah (daughter) John (father).



George and Sarah married in 1847 and their ages were only given as 'of full age'.



Their addresses are both given as Balls Pond (not sure whether this is a Middlesex district or the Balls Pond Rd).

What was George's and their fathers' occupations?

Both George and Thomas Eaton are listed on the marriage certificate as Labourers.



However, George Eaton very soon after his marriage is on most documents as a 'brick maker'.

Can't see either of them in either census. Problem is that in 1841 it doesn't give relationships or birthplaces and Sarah is probably working as a domestic servant away from home anyway.



1851 there's no Eaton, Eton or anything else likely.



The marriage took place in Shoreditch. Balls Pond to me is just the area around the road.



Hope someone with a keener eye can help.

I found possibles but nothing really probable.

After getting into Etton, Eatton etc I decided I was getting further and further from my original search.



The 1901censusonline search engine really needs updating, you can't cross reference properly and 1851 you have to put the first name in so you cant find who lives in an area.



1881 census says George was born in Clapton but that is no use either.
