Thread: edward atkinson ambridge born 1858

have had some great help with information on edward ambridge from everyone,

i have edwards birth cert saying his mother was sarah, but it appears to be incorrect , it seems to be julia ambridge, so would julias mother taken edward on as her own?



please can anyone tell me when julia died? it seems she did not marry

julia was born about 1838 father was robert ambridge and mother was sarah

The only entry on FreeBMD for Julia Ambridge is



Ambridge Julia 90 Mar 1928 Kingston 2a 911



This fits with the 1838 birth date you give. If Edward was illegitimate then the Kingston as his second Christian name may be a link to his father's name - possibly Edward Kingston. Of course he could have been named after the place where he was born!

edwards middle name was atkinson (edward atkinson ambridge)

so maybe his fathers name could be atkinson, it seems that it is one of those things that we will never know the truth.
