Thread: Annie Florence Davidson

Looking for my grandmother, ANNIE FLORENCE DAVIDSON of Ballymena Dunnganon Co. Tyrone. In the early 1940’s, she worked as a waitress and resided at 38 Leyham Gardens, Kensington W8 (London).



On Oct 28, 1945, she gave birth to a son in a “convalescant home” in Coombe Down, Bath, England who she named ROBERT WILFRED DAVIDSON.



The boy resided in an orphanage in Guildford under the care of SISTER I WILLIAMSON of Hope Lodge, Nightingale Road until July 1947. He was then adopted by CYNTHIA AND BERNARD THOMS and renamed HAMISH JAMESON THOMS.



Upon adoption of the boy, Cynthia received a document from Homeless Children's Aid and Adoption Society and F.B. Meyer Children's Home (Incorporated).

What do you want to know? I guess that Annie may have married and / or died, so its a trawl through the indexes.

Well, basically I want to find her. I want to know what happened and what led her to give my father up for adoption. And I want to learn about my family.



The information I posted is all the information my father and I have.



I've searched as best I can through a variety of means and still come up short.



The reason I'm posting on all the forums at all the sites I can is because I'm hoping someone recognizes the name or the information that I have provided.



I guess I'm hoping to get lucky. I know it's a long shot but anything is worth a try, right?
