Default Handwriting needing decyphering plus London address

I was wondering if anyone could come up with a translation of the signature on this death certificates. I am trying to work out who my relative married.

Also, the informants address which to me looks like Rippoth Rd, Old Ford, London.

Any suggestions as to what it could be, or if Rippoth Rd, changed it's name?

    Sadly no.

I cannot find a marriage of a Hilliard to a Simpson.

Also Rippeth Rd, like my guess of Rippoth Rd does not exist on any map I can find on the web.

The Sid bit might be Sidney Street (as in the siege of Sidney Street) which you can see here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?source...-8&sa=N&tab=wl

    Sorry I must appologise there.

John Hilliard did live at 6 1/2, 7, 10 and 23 Sydney St, Bethnal Geen.

It is sorting out what his daughter was called and her address so I can hopefully trace her that I am after.

LDS site has 1881 census transcript with John Hillyard [sic] as a widowed 76-year old sik weaver, lodging at 10 Sidney Street, London.

    I have that thanks.

Basically the Hilliards were iliterate silk weavers (excuse my typos, or are they genetic).

The family vanished from censuses 1861 and 1871.

I have been trying to sort this part of my direct tree for a few years.

Unable to find the wedding of my 3xGt GM, I bought birth certificates of a few of her children and discovered that the Hilliards became Elliott for a few years, which is phonetically close but you wouldn't guess unless you saw it completely mispelt by a registrar.

Yesterday, I finally found the 1861 census for the Hilliards under ELLIOTT and they were living at 6 1/2 Sydney Street, Bethnal Green. (whether that means they were sleeping in the Alley between buildings I don't know!

Without finding them on the 1871 census, which I have failed by name searching but assume they are living somewhere in Sydney St. probably, 6 , 7 , 10 or 23.

I cant guess at the correct name of his daughter who was the informant.

And thereby likewise possibly find yet another varient of their surname. I have tried literally hundreds of varient combinations using Freebdm with no hits. If I cannot find the Hilliards on the 1871 census I thought maybe I could trace his daughter on the 1881 somewhere in Old Ford and work backwards

John who is lodging with a James Hillyard in 1883 appears with James in 1871 under name HILLETT!

If you have an idea who E Simpson is (I'm thinking Edith/Eliza/Elizabeth/Emily/Emma) then you might find her in 1881 living at Rippwhatever!

    Thanks for that

I have never tried HILLETT as a spelling variation, certainly an evolution of HILLIARD to ELLIOTT.

I have just tried finding Hillett on 1901census online but keep getting an error, when I try and search on 1871 or 1861. I have no idea why.

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me the names and ages of all the Hillett's living in that area so I can try and search for them eslewhere today or maybe back on 1901censusonline when the fault goes.

There should be at least a John, Mary and Henry?

Great find, just wish I could look it up...oh well if I've been searching 3 years afew days wont matter.
