Thread: Searching for relatives of Harry Worrall

Harry Worrall was my Grandfathers brother, born 1922 in Swinton, Manchester UK and emigrated to Australia march 1955, his wife and son followed August 1955 (Elizabeth aka Betty & Anthony A).



I do have all the records i.e. BMD's and outgoing passenger lists to Sydney but once they arrive in Australia i loose all trace of them.



What i have attempted is to look at immigartion records at the Australian national archives but their records cease at 1950 or is this just me.



If anyone can point me in the right direction or can provide any information it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a relative Harry Worrall and I reside in Australia but I doubt we are related
I do have access to Electoral Rolls via Ancestry dot com and if you respond to this posting I will look up your family for you.

You don't mention what state in Australia they immigrated to. In New South Wales there is a death on our BDM records for a Harry Worrall in 1966 at Burwood (a suburb of Sydney). His parents christian names are listed as Harry and Elizabeth. Registration No. 28225/1966.

I have also found a death for Elizabeth Anne Worrall 22 November 1978 in Bexley (also a suburb of Sydney). Parents listed as John Hennery and Mary Ann. Registration No. 27509/1978.

That particular Harry (Henry Vernon) is my Great Uncle. Parents Henry Vernon and Elizabeth Ann Worrall

NOT the Harry Worrall you are searching for.

NSW BDM has Henry Vernon as having died in 1957 in Petersham parents Henry and Elizabeth. Registration No. 21493/1957.

I believe that the Harry Worrall that Chris is talking about was born December qtr 1922. Mother's maiden name Elizabeth A Stinchcombe Volume 8c Page 833 as per FreeBDM. There was a Harry Worrall and Elizabeth A Stinchcombe married March qtr 1913 Volume 8c Page 1147.
