Thread: Brickwall on my paternal line

This is my first post for help on this site and I am hoping someone can help solve this mystery.



I am trying to find the birth details for a John Mawson.

In the 1841 census he is mistranscibed as John Marsden and living in Eppleby, parish of Forcett, North Yorkshire.

The enumerator has ticked born in this county - 'Yorkshire'.

He married Ann Eden in 1806, again in the parish of Forcett, and all of his subsequent children were born in this area.

He died in 1851, aged 69 years - therefore birth circa 1781.



The marriage cert doesn't have any family witnesses.



Any ideas?

He married Ann Eden 12 Feb 1805 according to the IGI.

Buried on the 16th of March 1851 (aged 69 years) in Forcett, North riding of Yorkshire.



Even his gravestone gives no clues

Yeah I have for Forcett and no trace.

No trace on ny of the subscription websites either
