    Default Louis Edwood Hickey

Hi Looking for baptism record or parents of Louis Edwood Hickey born 1864 Douglas Isle of Man. In 1911 1901 lived in Oldham Lancashire. Possible match in 1881 census found a Edwin hickley living in Oldham Lancashire born 1864 Douglas Isle of Man age 17 living with Aunt Mary Gordons (mallins) born 1844 Clare Ireland and Grandmother Mary Mallins born Clare Ireland. The ages of Aunt and Grandmother are to close???.

Anyway do you think this is the same Hickey in 1881 census?

I cant find him in the 1871 census.

How can I track down Louis Hickey further there were no birth records in the Isle Of Man in 1864 I looked at parish birth records for the four churches in Douglas and could not find him.

Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Richard

    Hello

I think thats him if you look at the actual census it says Hickey not Hickley, I will see if I can find him on the other census.

    Hi Richard

As they originated in Ireland, is there a possibility that they are Catholics?

My lot came from Co Down to Torquay by way of Douglas IOM and Exeter. They got marr in Douglas and had two children there, before moving on and having numerous more. This was in 1838, and the details from the PR gave witnesses and godparents!!

    I suggest you try

where there is an active Roman Catholic researcher.
