Thread: Please need help for 1871 Census "SMALL"

if you follow the family forward through the census.

in 1881 john and catherine with peter (10) and edward (7)

in 1891 there is john and catherine with peter (20) and edward (17)

in 1901 there is john and kate with peter (30) and edward (26) and joseph ( son born 1857). this would fit in with joseph on the 1871 census. Peter an edward would not be on 1871 census as they are born after census date.



so that just leaves the question of where the missing chidlren were in 1881.

he is the only other "small" born in the registration district apart from all the rest of the family mentioned above so i suspect he is another child
