Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me please.
I am trying to research a Gulland family, most of whom were born in Kent.
The parents were John Gulland (born circa 1806, place unknown) and his wife Elizabeth Gulland (born circa 1810, Woolwich, Kent). Elizabeth's maiden name possibly Doyle? It appears that their first child, James Gulland, was baptised in 1830 at St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, followed by John Bruce (1831), Alexander (1834), Elizabeth (1838 at St. Mary The Virgin, Dover), Samuel (1840, Dover) and John Henry (1842, Dover). The 1841 census shows the family being at the Hougham Heights Barracks, Dover where the father, John Gulland, was a sergeant in the Royal Artillery. Other later census records show them in the Woolwich area, but it appears that John is missing from census records after 1841 (possibly died).
Does anyone have any marriage record for John and Elizabeth (possibly St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, circa 1825 to 1830) and perhaps a record of their respective births and parents' names?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
