Thread: Francis White

Hi, l was wondering if anyone can help me to find out more about FRANCIS WHITE born 1859 in LONDON. He appears in 1861 census in BATH living in household of HENRY HARRIS, and also SARAH WHITE his Grandmother. I have information about her but not for FRANCIS who is listed in later census as being born MIDDLESEX- LONDON and ST LUKES- LONDON. I would love to know who his parents were as he continued to live in Bath and eventually married.

Please can someone help me with this one as it is a real mystery to me, He appears to have married an ANN MARIA POWELL in BATH in 1885 and if so, his middle name would be HENRY but l really want to know who his parents were. On various census it states that he was born in LONDON but of course this could have been a cover up and he was maybe born in BATH.

Sarah in 1851? (I'm trying to establish who Sarah's children were and then hopefully work out which one was Francis' parent) All Sarah's children were born in Chippenham, Wilts. Thomas is a mistranscription - should be Joseph.

These christenings are from igi, all have parents Robert and Sarah - therefore it would seem Sarah's husband was Robert.

So - we have 5 children born to Sarah ......... Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Ann and Jacob. Mary was married to Henry Harris which leaves us with 4 possibles.



In 1861 Jacob is with his wife Mary Ann, and children - Henry 7, and Clara 2.

In 1891 there's this Ann White who's single. (so she's a possibility)

I can't find an obvious for Joseph on any census after 1851.



It's between Ann, Elizabeth, and Joseph. I suggest you look for a marriage for Elizabeth, a death or emigration for Joseph, and try to find a registered birth for young Francis to enable you to buy the cert. Sorry I can't be more help.
