Thread: Titus Rutherford

Hi i am trying to find a Titus Rutherford in parish records but i keep banging my head against this brick wall, in some census he is born Stepney, Kent and in others Stepney, London he was born 1810/11 pls point me in the right direction as where to look he is my gr.gr.gr.gr.grandfather i wld just like to see if i can find his parents and siblings if he had any wld greatly appreciate any help given.

On the 1841 census, the London census also includes Surrey, Essex & Kent. I wouldn't worry what County it says he was born in, he was still born in the same place. It is the boundaries that keep moving.

I have people in my tree that were born in Stepney, but at a later date. On these later censuses, they were sometimes born in London, Surrey or Middlesex. Most of mine were baptised atSt. Dunstan and All Saints and as it did earlier baptisms I would start there.
