I am now totally confused, in each census william seems to have a different wife. In 1871 its ann in 1881 its frances and in 1891 its hannah! And to make it worse they all seem to be born in 1841 in sheffield. Whats the chances of it being the same woman?

Ann and Hannah could certainly be the same person, however there's a Frances inbetween! so hmm I don't know. Frances could be the enumerators error, or her middle name? Have you found any marriage(s), do the children's ages agree on the census? Are all three definitely the same William, does his occupation match?

1861. Wife is Ann but born 1836? William again is a razor grinder.

No dont have him in 1851 yet. Just checking for the childrens births and trying to find a poss marriage. I cant find any marriages for William Womack in Sheffield is the wife always born in Sheffield?

His occupation is always the same and all the children match apart from the eldest william he was born 1855! All born sheffield though.

According to the 1861 and 1871 census Ann was born in Sheffield.
