Hi I am wondering if any members can help with a Convict lookup for

Samuel Clarkson who was born 1859 Whitburn Linlithgow Scotland transported to Australia.. I am trying to help my friend Kaza who is new to AA. I am also having trouble with Convict lists getting access to them on Google.. I keep getting a message URL not found.. Might be something to do with the storm we are having right now. Many Thanks for your help with this one.

Hi Marion.

What makes you think that Samuel was a convict. Convict transportation ended by 1868 so I don't think he would have been a convict.

I have found a Samuel Clarkson who arrived in Australia 17 October 1879 on the Martha Fisher. No age is listed for him but the timeline fits perfectly with his marriage to Anna Maher in 1881.

I found it at the Queensland Immigration Indexes 1848 - 1884 at this link. Indexes are alphabetical and right down near the bottom of the link page.

Hi Kate,

Many thanks for that.. Samuel Clarkson was my friends GG Grandfather. My friend thought that there was a possibility he might have been a convict so I was just following through..
