Hi there, I have just found a marriage of a Frederick Thomas Stone to Mary Hunter in George town, George, Cape of Good Hope South Africa date 11 November 1856. Are these possibly some of the people you were looking for?

I searched the info for his birth 20 April 1829 Kensington England son of John Thomas Stone. There's a strange thing it says he married Mary Anne Hunter on 18th January 1875 and that he died on 11 November 1907 at his own residence at "Uniondale" which is also where he was buried. Submitted to FamilySearch.Org by K.A. Stone of Port Elizabeth South Africa.

    Hi Friely

    Thanks for the info.

These appear to be the ones. Any other info where you found this?

Am trying to trace both parties parents.

Only have a father for Frederick - father John.

    thanks in advance

    Carol

I think the submitter has done a pedigree file you need to contact them I think, the search I did came up with one pedigree resource file if you click on it the details will come up on screen to read it mentions compact disc number 134 and pin number 4571214. You may be able to down load the info or order a copy of the disc from www.FamilySearch.Org hope you've found this helpful.

I may be wrong but I think Uniondale is in the Western Cape of South Africa, not in New York but you never know.

I have located an approximate birth year for John Thomas Stones 1808 London who married Matilda Goodwin at Old Church St Pancras on4 July 1839. Unfortunately all the other John Stone entries have no middle names.

You'll need to concentrate your Irish family research on some of good sites

www.rootsweb.com have an irish section and you may be interested in

http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/index.php they may have more on the County Cavan area for BMDs. There are other Irish message boards too who may be able to help further.

I checked the Irish Family History Foundation site and there is an entry for a Mary Hunter baptism county Caven 1825.

No way to tell if this is your Mary and it is a pay for view site.
