Thread: john HALEY b 1855 - cant find parents. help please?

I am trying to confirm parents of JOHN HALEY b 1855. the info i have is below, cant find mother or father but have fathers name, but still cant find this father anywhere. if you could help it would be much appreciated.



John Haley born 1855 Old ford, Bow, London.

married 25 Dec 1876 in bethnal green to Emma Rogers (have her parents etc.. but cant find his)

occupation at time of marriage :Firewood cutter.

address at marriage: 19 Carter Street, Bethnal Green, Middx (now london)

father on marriage cert: THOMAS HALEY, occupation DRAYMAN.





other info on john b 1855:

1861 address: cant find him on census.

1871 address : cant find him on census

1876 address : 19 Carter Street, Bethnal Green.

1881 address: East Street, Walthamstow, Essex

1891 address : 27 summersford Street, Bethnal Green

1901 address: walthamstow, essex.



occupation after marriage: OSTLER - he worked for his in laws and took over their business.



children:

john 1877 born whitechapel, annie edith 1878, thomas 1881, henry 10/05/1886, sarah 1887, billy 1890, joseph 1895.



his wife was from Cromer, norfolk. b 1854. have her line.



please can anyone find Thomas Haley, drayman prior to 1876 with a son john?

any ideas how i prove which one is his?



should i get several birth certs and see which ones have father thomas?

witnesses were no relation. got 1855? from the marriage certificate, age 21 in 1876.



the haleys are my paternal line and they look dark skinned, someone once said they were immigrants and someone else said they were spanish. none of the direct descendants know anything of the history pre 1900 as they did not like to talk about the family.. have been trying to find these people for 8 years.

the address of carter st/ mape street is the pub where thomas haley and henry rogers worked with the horses.

they also had a daughter ADA (known as polly) who was age 6 in 1901 at a convalescent home in reigate, surrey.)



john haley died june 1900, age 44 bethnal green



when daughter sarah married archibald Gliddon father was John Haley, occ horsekeeper.

when daughter ada maried Henry Potts father was John Haley , occ carman.

(henry was not on 1901 census as he was a seaman in 1901- in portsmouth naval.) henry joined on 10th may 1900, age 13 to HMS impregnable.

tom, son, age 30, single, carman, (district council) born walthamstow.

henry, son, single 24, sailor Royal Navy seaman 'ab' born bethnal green

joe, son single 16, van guard general carriage, born bethnal green



henry was married by this census even though it lists him as single.

henry haley married to nellie on 6 oct 1910 walthamstow.

their daughter nellie was born 17 Mar 1911. nellie the wife is in institution at time of 1911 census with daughter age 0, i am presuming it was mothers home as lots of single women with babies under 3 months are listed.
