hi can anyone help i,ve not got much info on my grandparents except names nellie maiden name Gatenby and william Richardson lived in york after married my fathers name was Reginald born in 1930 i know he had a number brothers and sisters but dont know much about them as my grandparents died when i was very young as far as i can gather william was born in york any info would be greatful thank you pete

William Richardson married Nellie Gatenby in York, 1st qrt 1911.

The births listed below all had a mother whose maiden name was Gatenby. All surnamed Richardson and born in York.

Leslie Jan-Mar 1918

There's a few Nellie Gatenby's on the census living in Yorkshire, but none were born/living York. As the online census returns only go up to 1901, she must have moved to York sometime between 1901 - 1911. If you would like to go further back you'll need to buy her marriage certificate - which will name the couples' fathers' and their occupations, with that info we should be able to find them on the census returns.
