G'Day Lady Marion,

I saw your post here about Pallots Marriage Index .

Do you think you could possibly lookup a marriage for me, PLEASE

I'm interested in the marriage of Thomas Watkins (Whatkins) 1744\5 to Anne May 1752. They were married 13 Jan 1770 at Wokingham, Buckinghamshire.

I did find this on the IGI but as you know its not always right. Does the Index also show parents ?? I sure would like to know the names of Thomas'.............

Daytona I dont think I can help you..Pallotts start from 1780 to 1837. Anne and Thomas married in 1770 Berkshire.

Lady Marion, G'Day again, Thanks for the info . You cleared up the where did "Thomas Snr" and his son George come from? Sorry to have sent you to the wrong county , cant understand that.

My 3x Grandfather was his son Moses ,so now I'm back to 4x (sounds like shirt size!) and what I'd really, really like, is to find Thomas' father.

Could I push my luck and ask you REALLY nicely to look upanother couple for me ???

Mary Kessel bn abt 1720 Reading, Berkshire.

If you have the time to do this for me I would be very grateful .

But first have a relaxing break with your daughter.Gonna be warmer in QLD than it is here thats for sure. -12 and snowy today.....

Daytona I have just been looking at Ancestry.com at the Public Member Trees and there is a Watkins Family Tree that has your names.. The owner of the tree is..iwatkins1965. Moses your 3x G Grandfather is also there.

Thanks for the e-mail re Thomas Watkins (Kessell), with 2 l's.

While searching through the IGI, I did find a lot of Kessell's ,but only the one Mary.It seems she and her family came from the Reading area as all were recorded as being christened at the same church. St Mary at Reading. For what its worth , her parents (i think !!) were Peter and Mary Kessell and there were (so far) two siblings. Ann Kessell bn 1718 and Hart Kessell bn 1716.

What I CANT find anywhere is a marriage for Thomas Watkins ( Whatkins) to Mary Kessell................Did find, also on the IGI a marriage for a Mary Kessell to another guy in 1750. Maybe she and Thomas were not married . Ships in the night ,perhaps??

I need to find the marriage , if it is there , as I need to find the name of Thomas' father. Thanks again................Daytona.

Have just seen your e-mail with the same info as I just sent you !!Sorry to keep sending this stuff back and forth.

I was under the impression that the Thomas Watkins who married Ann May 1770 in Wokingham , was the son of Thomas Watkins (Whatkins) and Mary Kessell , and he was the father of Moses et al.

Its the marriage (or not) of Thomas to Mary Kessell that I need to find, as I dont know the name of his father.....
