    Default Martha MORLEY

Hi Readers I'm back again with another wall to get over. This time I'm after help in finding the parents who I think are Thomas MORLEY and Martha CORDEN of Notinghamshire.Martha MORLEY was married to John TATE of Leicester in 1815.I've done a bit of digging and Thomas comes from Radcliffe on Trent and Martha his wife comes from Bleasby both in Nottinghamshire.I have a friend who is also looking for the same line and she dissagrees with me about the parents. So any help on this will be a big help so then I can move on. Many Thanks tel1

    Hi Tel1,

The igi has a record for Martha Morley with parents Thomas and Martha, christened 1798, however she died in 1806.

I notice that Martha, and John Tate's children were christened as non - conformists, which could mean Martha herself belonged to a non-conformist church. Have you looked at nonconformist christenings?

Most non-conformist chapels weren't licensed to perform marriages which would explain why the couple married in Cof E.

Who does your friend think were her parents?

    Hi Tel1,

Sorry but I'm confused Who are you looking for?

Does this line going back start with .........

MARTHA MORLEY (m. 1815 John Tate)

THOMAS MORLEY and MARTHA CORDEN (
    Her parents)

THOMAS MORLEY and MARTHA SAUVIN (the above Thomas' parents)

And are you wanting to establish that the above MARTH SAUVIN was indeed married to THOMAS MORLEY senior, and therefore THOMAS juniors mother?

Hi Slizzy Sorry about the confusion.I'm after confirming that Thomas Morley juniors parents are Thomas Morley and Martha Sauvin. The other person who is after the same line think's that Thomas Morley snr and Martha Sauvin are not the parents of Thomas junior.I've traced the line back to 1668 but if I'm wrong it's back to the drawing board. Many thanks for helping me out because as you know it's easy to take the wrong path. Kind Regards Tel1
