Thread: 1901 census look up please

Hi



I recently found the school my grandfather went to i contacted them and they looked back the records for me and also came across another possible ancestor the only thing is i have two of the same name as my gr gr grandfather and brother both called their children the same names. The name is Alfred E deVall one is born 1874 and the other 1880 both from Birmingham the one i am looking for both but the one i am interested mainly in was a doctor according to the school and his sons first name started with an E and middle name with an S.



Any help would be great

Louise, I've had a quick look at 1901 but haven't found an Alfred deVall - tried a couple of alternatives, still no luck so far. Several deVall. but no Alfred.



Am I right in thinking - your grandfather went to a school in Birmingham? (which one/where?) it might help with location, as some parts of Birmingham were in Warwicks, others Worcs, & others Staffs

your gt.grandfather was E S deVall b. ?

and g.g.grandfather was Alfred E deVall - a doctor b. 1874 / 1880 in Birmingham ?

Alfred Ernest de Vall, and on the same page Jessie Adelaide J Cooke.

There's a de Vall birth with initials E. S.



Ernest Seymour De Vall, Apr-Jun qrt 1901, Aston Warwickshire.

After looking closely at the 1901 original sheet, I'd say RABY under 1 month is probably BABY, ie at the time of the census they hadn't decided on a name. Therefore it's possible the above birth is the unnamed child.
