Thread: Annie Wheatman nee Richardson

My Nana Annie Richardson married William Thomas Wheatman in 1930 but he went by the name of Tommy Wheatman. Annie played for the Dick Kerrs ladies football team but i have no idea of the year. She had 9 children but 3 dies at an early age. Annie's husband Tommy was in France-Battle of the Somme WW1 but the only thing i know about him is he got injured badly on his leg, he got gassed ? i don't know anything else. All my older relatives are dead now so there is no one in my family to ask. I would appreciate any info at all. Thanks

To learn more, and get further back I'd advise you to buy their marriage certificate. Here's the details you'd need to order a certificate - they cost £7. The certificate would name their fathers' and therefore help us to find them in the 1901 census. Were they both from the Preston area? Also do you know when Annie was born?

Thanks for your reply. Yes they were both from the Preston area. Annie was born 1900/1901 and she died in 1970. I am not certain but Annie's parents could be named John and Margaret. I will go to the link you sent me now to order a marriage certificate.
