Thread: Death Reg Look Up Please

Is there anybody who can search for Death records after 1952.



I've been trying to find out when my gt grandmother died but im struggling and dont have full access to all the records.



Death would have been registered at Sheffield between 1952 and 1972.



My gt grandmother was Annie Fox (married name) born 1884, i know she lived at Chapeltown up until she died but nobody can remember when she died.

That's 20 years' worth of records, with 4 quarters to each year. The GRO death indexes are available at records offices, but you might find it easier to contact the Sheffield Register Office and see if they could search for you.

I thought Chapeltown was Leeds, not Sheffield.

I know it was a long shot hoping that somebody may have access to records. The records i need are kept at Sheffield Archives but the years i need are not yet available.

There is two Chapeltown's one in Sheffield and one in Leeds.



Any idea's if i could get the records if i paid for the search?

Not sure which records you mean? You can find the death registration in the GRO death indexes and then order the certificate.



Or do you mean burial/cemetery/cremation records?

Ive since spoken to Sheffield Archives and the burial records i need are kept down there, so will be spending a day searching through them.
