Thread: Twiggers of Warwickshire Look-up please

If possible I would like a look-up please I am finding it really difficult to find the parents of a certain man( Joseph Twigger 1842) I have tried a few times but with no success I'll write as much info as I can



Joseph Twigger b.1842 bedworth Warwickshire married Maria Carey b.1849 Belmullet County Mayo Ireland ( dont know if married in Bacup/Bedworth )



Had children Robert, Thomas, George and Nora in Bacup Lancashire



There are so many Joseph Twiggers down that part , and Ive tried so hard

Joseph and Maria were married in Haslingden Lancashire Oct-Dec qrt 1863.

If you would like to send for the certificate you will need the reference vol 8e page 177. The certificate would name his father, cert's can be ordered online from the GRO at a cost of £7.



I'll take a look at census records and see what I can find.

There were two Joseph Twigger's baptised circa 1842 in Bedworth.



1. Born 18th Apr 1840, parents Joseph and Elizabeth



2. Born 9th Mar 1844, parents William and Mary

Working back from 1901.

Haven't found them yet in 1881. Here they are in 1871. Anna Twigger is Joseph's niece.

1851. The enumerator has written initial only for first name......not very helpful! Here's both families which fit with the two baptisms posted above. These two families are living next boor but one to each other.

Nice to meet you, I have just been looking at the information you have wrote and it is the right family, its just a shame that there is no christian name only the letter, this is what trouble I had... seems a bit strange 2 Josephs living next door but 1 wonder if they were cousins? I cant see them having the same name though, but wonders never cease I think everybody had the same name in the 1800s. (Darn Joseph Twiggers name your kids bob hehe) Ive tried googling the name too but there are so many in bedworth



Should I order a cert? or do you think I will find him on here ?
