I am looking for the parents of my Gt Gt Grandmother:

Sarah J Fitzsimons Bap. 16 Feb 1835 St Peter's Liverpool

I think her parents might have been from Ireland or possibly Scotland.

according to an extracted entry on IGI her parents are Samuel Fitzsimmons and Sarah. Sorry no maiden name for Sarah..



There is also a christening for a Samuel Fitzsimmons 2 Jul 1826 St Peter Liverpool with father Samuel Fitzsimmons and mother Sarah..

It certainly sounds right as I have a brother James b.1826

I'll go look for a marraige between a Samuel Fitzsimmons and a Sarah pre 26.

I have checked for a marriage in Scotland for Samuel Fitzsimmons and Sarah but sorry to say I can find none...

The Scottish/Irish connection could it have come from the 1841 and 1851 Census



There is on the 1841 Census

Sarah Fitzsimmons age 50 with Children James aged 15 and Sarah aged 5. Looks possibly like she was born Ireland I would say.

and on the 1851 Census there is a Sarah Fitzsimmons a widow living as a lodger with a family of Moore, and it states she was born Scotland.

I've just found the 41 census and it looks as if Sarah (senior) AND James were born in Scotland.

I'll take a look at the 51 as well.

Have checked Scotland's People for a birth for a James Fitzsimmons born between 1820 and 1830 and the only one that comes up has father William Fitzsimmons born Wigtonshire

Is there a dob for that Raven?

the date given is 9 Jul 1828. Mother is a Margaret McGuffog.

Oh that dosen't look like my James.

I searched for one born between 1790 and 1800. The are none with the exact spelling but when I use soundex there is a Samuel Fitsimions born 10 Nov 1799 in Barony, Glasgow City, Lanark. Father Samuel Fitsimions, Mother Isobel McKie
